The slip clutch isn't designed to slip until you get a big enough impact to damage the tractor...(or hog). It's functionally comparable to a shear pin ... except you don't have to replace a pin every time it gives. I suppose you could adjust it 'down' to give easier, but it's not really designed for that purpose. If you want to reduce shock to the tractor, there are a wide variety of 'cushioned' couplings that are made for industrial applications that will do this. You'd have to engineer one into the driveline.. but it should be prety 'doable' if you really wanted one. bb

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
