roosters will have taller comb on the head larger tail feathers. When you said seen one top hen thats just mother nature at work,only problem is they can get really mean and rough on the hens. they will tear all feathers off there backs and head if you let it continue,literally have blood exposed on there backs. Especially if you have more than one rooster in your flock. Egg production will go way down if this is going on also. If you want egg production get the roosters out. Been doing it for years. have 7 roosters to give away if interested. Love hearing them crow around the place but they he$$ on hens and to costly to feed just for the noise. Banty roosters they neat to have around will be hatching more again soon
