I have a ledge lot that I have just skim coated with clay sub-soil excavated from a pit I have next to my house lot. Because of the heavy rock outcrops little if any top soil was available to dress the clay fill. My question is what grass or gound cover will grow in this soil type? I have about 3 acres that need cover to prevent soil erosion and silt shifting. I have seen reclaimation grass seeds advertised for gound cover for strip mining and such. What makes these grow in organically starved soils? Any help will be great! Keith
