I've tried all suggestions written below with various degrees of success. They all take a lot of time and effort. ScottyHOMEy below is absolutely correct. Get a steam pressure washer. Rent one, hire a guy with one or buy one. It's absolutely amazing what they will do. I've spend days cleaning a tractor ready for paint. The steam pressure washer will do the same job in hours. Sure they are expensive but you don't have to use them a lot to pay for themselves. What's your time worth?
