Had one, used it, sold it, after some years bought it back with intentions to restore, have lost a lot of interest and have trouble finding time. Tractor is powerful, will pull 18 disk offset harrow with 9 inch spacing ok. Liked it for bush hog work because you are up above the flying trash. Down side is you are sitting up there without fenders to protect you. When disking, heat from the exhaust manifold radiates up to the gas tank and makes gas boil out of the tank. Put vent tube in cap and gas would come out of that. I don't mean literal boiling, but the gas did get warm enough to expand. Reports at the time indicated the problem was not limited to JDs, Farmall M was mentioned, but I have never owned an M--yet.
Foot pedal for pto simplifies pto work, which is needed because of hand clutch.
Visualize using tractor to move round bales of hay with 3ph forks. You have to back the tractor, steering with one hand, while using the hand clutch to stop tractor at proper point, then use the right hand to work the hydraulic lift. A little awkward.
The cat II 3ph is great and I haven't seen a more modern one that is any better.
Didn't have any complaints about the steering, even though it is non power.
Fuel economy was not bad.
Never could get the starter to spin that big 2 cyl very fast and cranking could get interesting.
Referring back to gas boiling, I don't think it did that in cold weather.

How did I get this way? I came from the suburbs and own a small horse farm in rural Loudoun County, Virginia. You can call me a "weekend farmer." The local farmers do. Does it bother me? No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
