Mark, I don't know what size tractor you have to sell or how much money you want for it.
There is a 15 day waiting period for any type check to clear I tell my customers. 8-10 days the bank knows if the check is good but then they notify you by mail after that.
You can take it to a farm machinery consignment auction, there are a lot of them this time of the year, or talk with an auctionneer they can add it to one of the upcoming farm auctions. You can accept or deny the final bid, so you're in control.
If someone wants to pay by check tell them to make the check out to themselves, cash it and bring you the cash. It's that simple. Paypal works too but the customer can recall the money.
My experience is with money orders now days can be counterfiet. I had a $500 corn planter for sale and someone sent me $5,000.00 and wanted me to take out my portion and wire back the remaining $4,500.00 thru Western Union. Well I held off luckily and on the 7th day I told the bank what this person wanted me to do and lady incharge at the bank told me to hold off this doesn't sound good. Well the next day (8th day) the bank told me they were counterfiet. I was told by the bank that I was one of the few lucky ones. That's the only problem I've had in 8 years of selling on the internet. I wouldn't have known that soon if I hadn't said something to the bank on the 7th day.
Sorry for this long post but hopefully it will keep someone else from falling victim of these cowards.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
