I'm more familar with the 50s and 60s than the 30s and 40s and I've only lived in New England since 1976, but this is what I've observed. Most real oldies you see sitting around in the weeds are Farmalls, some JD and of course there are plenty of 9N Fords everywhere. The tobacco farmers in the Connecticut Valley seem partial to Farmalls and still run a lot of old ones. Some places the local dealer seems to have made the difference - for example there was a prominent Allis Chalmers dealer in Sunderland, MA and you still see more old AC's in the Connecticut River valley from Northampton north to Vermont than you do in the rest of New England.
