Spent most of Saturday pulling down an old building and cutting up the usable parts for sugar wood. I got caught short this year and I am scrounging anything I can get. Yesterday I boiled sap until about 9:00PM. Burned up everything I cut up Saturday and some besides. Once I feel like moving today I will go back to cutting. The sap won"t run today, too cold, and probably not much tomorrow either. I am looking at a bunch of dead trees close to the edge of the fields, and wondering how much static I will get from my boys when the come home from school and find out they have to carry the pieces out of the woods by main strength and ignorance. They will probably be too tired to play computer games tonight. Actually they will play anyway, the younger one was up when I went to sleep last night, and had to ride to school with his mother this morning, because he was still asleep when the bus went by.
