I have a Ford 3600D (pretty sure that makes it a CAV DPA pump) that has been leaking fuel into crankcase for a while. Since my usage is light (hobby acreage) I have been monitoring and refreshing oil frequently as well as trying to find/fix problem. Replaced the "Thermostart" hoping that would be it, but still had fuel in crankcase. There is a seal you can get to in the injection pump without removing the pump so it was replaced without any improvement as well. Removed the pump over the weekend and replaced the seal behind the "drive hub". Mounted pump and bled system to get it running and now engine just runs at max RPM (or maybe faster). Am assuming I must have somehow messed up the throttle/governor somehow, but sure don't see what I could have done since I was not near any of those parts. Tractor was running fine before I started messing with it.
Any thoughts on DIY fixes or do I need to breakdown and take the pump over to the local diesel shop? Sure would be nice if it was something I could do myself. I have the Ford Service manual which describes the full rebuild with some pictures just not sure if I might need specialized equipment or tools. I might just remove the pump again and take the cover off to see if something obvious broke or came loose during my efforts. Looking for a little encouragement and insight.

The window was dirty and I was driving into the evening sun. It was hard to see and it was my first pass down the field. I got the tractor so stuck that the underside of the tractor was resting on the ground. My uncle wanted
