We went to dinner Thurs. night to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary.
We were off Friday, so Friday morning we ran some errands and took care of some legal business. Friday afternoon he drove 15 T posts into the ground and helped me expand the grazing area for the horses.
Saturday, while he was getting the welding jobs done, I got on our JD 51 M and mowed the front yard, back yard and several areas around the shop and the corral. Later, he used our 56 JD 70 nicknamed 'Vernon' to do the discing, the 53 JD 70, (nicknamed '15' because it was the 15th 70 to roll off the assembly line) to pull the tire drag, and the Ford 2810 with a Rhino F/E loader to spread the topsoil.
Sunday, he mowed around the Ragan house on my '51 JD 'M' while waiting for more topsoil to be delivered to the hayfield. It was a beautiful day so I threw the lawn chairs in the back of the truck, grilled some sandwiches, got a jug of our honey-sweet tea, ice, cups, etc. and we had a picnic under a hackberry tree at the Ragan house.
Very nice, pleasant weekend. Unfortunately, we had to come back to Dallas.
I'll have James post some of the video I took this weekend of him discing the bare spots at the hayfield, pulling the tire drag and spreading the topsoil.
In the video of the drag and '15', I got the year wrong. '15' is a 1953 not a 1951 JD 70 gas tractor.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
