Clooney: Took the thing apart as you suggested. The point setting looked good, so I dressed the point surfaces with some wet/dry paper and cleaned them with electrical contact fluid. Also tightened down 2 screws from the outside that held the big transformer (or whatever it is, maybe an electromagnet) in place (it was loose). Then I tried your tip for the test and I got spark at all 4 terminals. Then did it with a plug wire and a plug and it looks good, a nice hot-looking spark. Now if I only had a running tractor to use it on. Thanks for the help.
