Dean, I'm going to agree with you, but add a little more..... Regardless of what oil is being used, it's always important to CHANGE it now and then, as we all know. What gets some folks in trouble with oil is when the use (or abuse) of a machine causes heat stress on the oil that breaks down its ablilty to lubricate. When this happens to an engine with multi-grade oil, the oil almost always gets the blame, even though a single-grade oil would likely have suffered the same failure. Even when the temperature gauge for the engine as a whole is in the safe range, oil temperature can soar in localized areas of the engine. The same is true in a transmission.
