I've been to two large consignment auctions in the last couple of weeks, the latest a two day affair, yesterday and today, and all I can say is if something is worth buying, people have no qualms about spending money.
Farm machinery in general went high yesterday. On the miscellaneous and vehicles today, same story. Even junk. A late '80's Buick LeSabre with 200K miles, paint gone, and one fender and door crushed bid to $300 and it was a no sale because the owner wanted more. I would have paid fifty bucks for it, parked it in back of my shop, and began robbing parts off of it.
One thing I had to laugh at. About ten days ago, I bought a MIG welder cart from HF for $49. There was an identical used one on the auction today. It brought $44. At least whoever bought it didn't have to assemble it, like I did.
