Hello Sparktrician, I'm pretty sure you can patent an improvement on any patent. The biggest hassle comes from trying to protect your idea/concept or whatever you are trying to patent. One wise old man told me to take your idea or whatever you want to protect and have the idea fully explained include pictures, NOTORIZED. Even if someone else comes up the the finished product on a later date, you would have the right to patent or receive payment for the idea, even if you never had a patent for it. I never had the opportunity to prove it, but it sounds right anyway. Good Luck...................GUIDO.
