I have no knowledge of the 9N engine being used in those Ford pickups but it is sure possible because it was used elsewhere. The Model A Ford car engine (1928-1930) was used; with little modification, in Model A pickups and trucks. The trucks were bigger and would have been rated to haul more than any pre-war pickup. The A and the 9N engines were very similar; both were flat head, four cylinders with up-draft carburetors. Neither used a fuel pump. The displacement was close. A difference was that the oiling system was “splash” on the A but “pressure” on the 9N.
