Now it is becomming a little clearer to me.

God has an intense feeling of dislike for divorce.

Did a little research on the web and found this definition:

Divorce or dissolution of marriage is the termination of a marriage, canceling the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage between two people. In most countries, divorce requires the sanction of a judge or other authority in a legal process to complete a divorce. A divorce does not declare a marriage null and void, as in an annulment, but divorce cancels the marital status of the parties, allowing them to marry another.

It looks to me that it is man's law sanctioning divorce and "allowing them to marry another" that's has gotten me into trouble with God.

To the best of my knowledge Nancy and I are legally married.

I truly believe that the ordained Southern Baptist preacher that performed our marriage ceremony in the presence of God and all those witnesses was not knowingly, intentionally, or willingly performing an illegal act against the Word of God.

I truly believe that our wedding vows that Nancy and I exchanged created a verbal contract which was an exchange of promises between two or more parties to do, or refrain from doing, and which is enforceable in a court of law.

I'm doing my best to stay focused and on topic here.

So what I'm reading in a previous reply is that God also has an intense feeling of dislike for re-marriage of divorced people like me and Nancy.

Makes me wonder if it is the legalized divorce procedure and the legalized wedding ceremony between a divorced man and divorced woman that God has an intense feeling of dislike.

Makes me also wonder about other legalized acts sanctioned by man's law like prostitution and abortion.

I need to stay focused and on main topic here.

After 21 years of marriage to Nancy, I do remember Brother Dub Darby closing our legalized wedding ceremony with "What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder."

Looks more and more to me like some of the laws created, interpreted, and enforced by mankind sometimes do not coincide with the Word of God.

It has been too long ago to remember exactly, but I vaguely remember an ordained minister saying "God dislikes sin, not the sinner."

Now it is coming back to me; way back in Vacation Bible School we learned "God is love".

If that one verse is the only verse I ever remember; God is love, then I will happy within the Word of God.

Today's Featured Article - Talk of the Town: Winterizing Engines - To Drain or Not to Drain? - by Russ Berry. What is this strange attraction I have to equipment and machinery? How did I get this way? I came from the suburbs and own a small horse farm in rural Loudoun County, Virginia. You can call me a "weekend farmer." The local farmers do. Does it bother me? No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most ... [Read Article]
