I have had a Garmin 760 for awhile now. It is my second one as the first one was stolen from my vehicle. If I remember right I think that feature of routing you around road construction etc is free for a few months and then if you want to continue that feature there is a monthly charge. I didn't subscribe to that service. I just found that information and here it is. "The nuvi 760 comes with a complimentary 3-month traffic subscription. After that, It'll cost you $60/year for service in the United States. On a recent drive from New York City to Connecticut, the nuvi 760's traffic feature saved me hours of sitting in rush hour traffic by taking a alternate, albeit longer distance, route. If the traffic service avoids even one major traffic jam, the $60 a year is money well spent." Here is a link to where I found that information. I found it at #26-Traffic on that website. Thanks for asking your question as it made me search a little and now I have more information and hints about my GPS. Coincidentally, yesterday I spent 45 minutes idling through a construction site on an Interstate highway. I guess that service would have been handy.
