I was talking to a mechanic friend of mine last night about this very subject, and he told me he just boiled a carburetor yesterday in no more than just plain hot water, and it cleaned it perfectly, after two boilings, and changing the water after the first time. he says that works just as well as anything will. I asked him if he added soap, and he told me no, just boil put the carb in the water and bring to a boil, and let it simmer for a while, and then repeat.
