I had to haul a boat for work today, about a five hour trip. Four hours out I fuel the Chebby at a Hess station and five miles up the interstate it looses power. I had to nurse it along the shoulder to the next exit. I put some STP diesel treatment in it since there were no Chevy dealers nearby and it ran great for about two hours then same deal all over again. Let it rest a few minutes and it ran another hour. This time when it went into limp mode there was a Chevy dealer on the access road at the next exit. They got it in immediately, the tech plugged in the scanner and installed a new fuel filter. I wasn't in there more than half an hour and all is good. They made my day. This is the second diesel truck we have had this happen to this year. I have a filter on my tank at home but it looks like the filling stations have none. Whatever glop is in their tank is in yours.
