The little drill plug on the stem is often overlooked. Years of rust make it feel like steel in that drill passage. You will know when it breaks thru, and sometimes it is real tough drilling it out.
Did you bead blast it or just soak it? I personaly remove every drill plug, bead blast,new bushings, both new bowl vents, remove the nozzle. So far I'm batting 100%, but I never do a quick job, everything 100% or nothing, because I do not want to have to redo one.
Those carbs are not to difficult, but pretty complicated compared to other tractors perhaps.
