Help with building a 1/2 scale GP

My father is dying to build a 1/2 scale "GP" or "D". Does anyone have any info on this. I have quite a few resources for machine and metal work. What size tires and rims to use is the thing that is puzzling me. Dad wants to have one ready for the '2001 show season. Pulling his three grand kids in a plastic wagon at a tractor show is starting to not be very appealing to him.
