Dan, The 8N/9N is a very nimble, agile, dependable tractor, and as such would be capable of handling your riding ring maintenance. As far as PTO goes, you'll find that they don't have live PTO which could be of some concern. This could be compensated for by use of a overrunning clutch. With regard to moving manure however, I think you will find it next to impossible to locate a front loader to fit, and if you do, it will probably cost more than what you'll pay for the tractor. Also, the N-series, to my knowledge, did not come with power steering, something that most people would consider a necessity for loader use. You might consider purchasing a small (they make them narrow enough to fit thru most stall doorways) used skid steer loader (gas engine models are usually considerably less than diesel ones) for the barn chores, and the N for every thing else. Not sure if this helps; Maybe others will have more to say.
