Tom, if you don't work it hard don't use anything. If you plan to work it hard or run it pulling wide open throttle use an additive. If it is worked real hard with no additive for extended periods you will risk the chance of valve recession. (valves sinking into the seats) It doesn't take much lead to protect the valve seats but most of the additives don't contain lead so I just put about 1/2 quart of non-detergent motor oil in each tank full of gas.
