I have just recently purchased my first tractor and love it!!!! You will ask yourself what you ever did without one!!! This is just my very limited opinion, but I would stay away from the ford 8N's and such, I looked at several of them and they just don't seem to have the power you need, and the independant PTO is often not a feature on them - I would look for something like an INTERNATIONAL - made by CASE, they are much more reasonably priced and offer all the things you need. I bought an INTERNATIONAL 460 utility tractor and love it - it is 50 horse power and plenty big enough to handle everything - yet I only paid $3,500 for it and it is a 1958 model! Whatever you get - make sure it has a wide front end - the tricycle front ends are just looking for a good place to turn over at!!!! have fun....
