On a single axle trailer, if the axle is not square to the hitch it will result in cat-tracking. But in this case look along the axle and see if it has been bent up to provide the necessary caster and camber. I've seen guys install an underslung axle over, reversing the caster and camber, resulting in similar handling characteristics. I've also seen guys use just straight axles, and when loaded will bend the spindles outward and upward. Also keep equal tire pessure. Slipper springs are the heavier-duty type, so that is not the problem. I always thru away the nylon bushing that comes standard in them and replaced with a rubber bushing type, they last longer. I'll have to assume that you have a tongue weight between 10% and 15%.

I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
