Call me cynical, but I have a sneaking hunch that this is just another ploy by our great leader and his buddies the enviornmentalist wackos to get people to stop buying SUV's. If you remember, the campaign against these vehicles started a couple of years ago when the feds started whining that they were 'too big' and that they caused serious injury and damages to smaller cars when they were involved in an accident. Then they tried the scare tactic that these vehicles get poorer fuel economy and pollute more than automobiles. But sales didn't drop, and more manufacturers added their own models into the selection. The initial figures at the start of this "crisis" stated 26 deaths due to defective tires, then it went to 60, now they have doctored the statistics and arrived at 80 some deaths, (over an 8 or 10 year period). Remember what the Algore agenda is when it comes to personal transportation and the internal combustion engine. These are some of the same scare tactics used against the tobacco companies, and all this comes from the most corrupt administration in history.
