Does anyone here have experiences (good or bad) with the convention of running pasture fences straight to a winding river? This used to be done around here for pastures years ago, to avoid having to fence along strict section and quarter section lines. The result would be you'd give up use of some of your land, but would gain the use of somebody else's land. Adverse possession would not be an issue, I think, because farmers involved would be agreeing (handshake in the old days) to a convention. I mentioned this old-time practice to a pretty smart fellow the other day & he looked at me kind of funny. Observations? Mark SW Wis.
