Karl the way I strip'm down I use SUPER-CLEAN it's purple looking cleaner you buy at Wal-mart or local parts store.I spray Super Cleaner on the whole tractor for a couple or three days, this softens the paint then use a pressure washer on whole tractor, then I start dissassemling tractor, wire brushing and using(cup brush)also on stubborn paint I use an aircraft stripper that's sold at Auto-Zone this method will take a tractor right down to the bare metal, then use a metal prep spray on and let set for a few minutes then wipe off, parts want rust till you can get a primer on it.Lot of work. Good luck Gman
