About 8 months ago, I ordered a new starter for a Case 188D. My factory starter drive was slipping and a replacement was not available. I installed the starter and on the third start the selenoid started clicking. I had to modify the new selenoid! Yesterday, I was servicing the Case, looked up and saw that the rubber insulation on the starter wireing was rotten and fall off. I had to pull the "NEW" starter and make new wire insulaton from tubing. $188.00 for a CHINA starter made just like the original with smaller electrical components and rotten rubber insulation!
