Offhand, I would have to say the pump shaft is not aligned with the shaft that drives it, putting excessive stress on the yoke and CV/universal joints. Another possibility is that a bearing is out in the pump or on the shaft causing the same problem. It would be better if we knew what kind of equipment we were talking about here so the real experts could give you the benefit of their experience.
