Funny how the school caves when they have cops looking into things. Or parents start getting in their face.
I got a call from my(9th grade) sons school saying they was going to suspend him for the rest of the school year for carrying drug paraphernalia. They said he had a crack pipe on him and was going to call the cops to report it too. When I went down there to see what it was all about he had the male end of a air hose quick connect that was screwed into a elbow. That morning he was in the garage and I had this thing on the floor and he picked it up to put away but dropped it in his pocket and forgot about it.
It was so obvious what it was and it definitely never had anything burnt in it. I jumped down the principals throat and told him he was a moron for making such threats and if he kept it up I'd be talking to the district superintendent. He allowed as how maybe he over reacted and dropped the whole thing.
We had a few more run ins like this for stupid stuff but he never made anything stick. His senior year the principal took away my sons cell phone and was going to keep it till the end of the year. I asked why he took it away. He said they are not allowed in school. The school hand book said they were not to be on during class. Principal wasn't going to give it up event though it was between classes and it wasn't even on. I once again had to get in his face and tell him my son WILL have his phone returned and will carry it in school. What if there was a school shooting I wanted him able to call 911 or home to let us know. The guy finally relented and returned the phone.
Sorry I got a bit off track but this unfair stupid school stuff just burns me. Hope your boy has a better rest of year.
