which herbicide?????????

This is related to tractors because i pulled out a bunch of privet hedge and 100 or so new plants sprang up from the roots. I decided to try hebicide from tractor supply but only made the leaves fall off and they grew back. Does anyone know what kind of herbicide the electric power companys use on fence rows and roways???? It makes all the plants weeds, pine, hardwood, vines and grass turn brown and die. no leaves fall off. I have a texas applicators certificate so i can buy pretty much any kind of product but i dont know what kind. THe certificatiioon class teaches how to apply safely but not what to apply. Anybody have any Ideas or suggestions. I have another 9 acres to go , the privet hedge is an undergrowth in a hardwood forest and dominant in clearings. Plants range from 3 inch diameter trunks to ground cover of seedlings. HELP!!!!
