I have a huge invasion of this invasive species. If you haven't seen it, it starts as a single plant and produces 100s of seeds.The seeds are picked up on deer's hooves, rabbit's feet, people's boots and spread to a new colony. One plant can start a new colony or satellite group. I'm barely able to keep up with the satellites. Herbicides work, but round up kills everything else, like wildflowers. I'm trying to eliminate the blooms to keep them from going to seed. Next years crop will get sprayed in the fall, after the wildflowers die back. I'm wondering if planting grass, like brome or timothy might choke it out. I can't believe how fast this stuff spreads. Anyone else battling this noxious weed?
