Evening Howard, Hope all is well in the top end of the panhandle. Leave it to the ones with the smart mouth remarks to not understand how things are in our part of the world. We don't make fun of those who think a moldboard is still a primary tillage tool. 99 % of the moldboards in the upper panhandle have been shipped to Mexico, One farm auction at a time though there are still a few around in old fence rows or nonused equipment rows on some farms. I will bet LJ still has that old 3 bottom JD spinner, I know it hasn't been pulled since the 1968 at the latest. The last time it was pulled it was pulled with a 4010. A JD 4430/4440 is a high hp loader/chore tractor. A decent 6row tractor, fair at best on 8 row. Won't handle a 18ft heavy offet, Just not enough Power in the Blood. At least in High Plains SandyLoam or Blow Sand soils! I am sure in other parts of the world a 4440 would be a nice tractor, pull a little plow, plant with a little planter, grow little corn LOL! I am sorry Guys, I just couldn't resist. Yes they will do a ton of work just depends on the type of equipment it is put on on how well it will handle it. Grain cart work is a nice job for a 4430/4440. Take care. Later, John A.
