It might be that inline filter.There are inline filters made for gravity flow but if its one for a fuel pump system it might not be letting the gas through.When it dies you want to check if it has spark right then.One thing I didnt see that you mentioned replacing was the ignition switch.Thats stuff I see a lot of times as an answer for something like that. If you check for spark as soon as it dies would tell you if it was electrical or not.Say you didnt have spark,then you jumped the switch and it fired up would tell you it was the switch.If you dont have fuel,you may want to get the system back to original with a sediment bowl and the screens rather than the inline filter that might not let fuel through fast enough.
