I just loaded a stuck Sheppard diesel (at LEAST 7,000 lbs) using F-14's method. I have a machinery trailer with ladder type ramps and it worked pretty good. I used 5 foot lengths of 2x16's. Just be sure your winch is sturdy enough, as well as the attachment points...!
