I assume since your tractor has been converted to 12 volts that it used to be 6 volt positive ground and is now 12 volt negative ground. Make sure the small (primary)wires on the coil have been switched to correct polarity when converting from 6v to 12v. The electronic conversions are very polarity sensitive.
If your igniton coil is still 6 volt and using a resistor now to step down the 12 volts to 6 volts make sure the new ign module is hooked to the 12v end of the resistor and not the 6v end. Your module is most likely hooked up at the coil and if this is the case then hook the module's hot wire up to the 12v side of the resistor so there is 12v feeding the module and not 6v.
