Banjo Update,,,,, Okay we have chatted about this before, Im now around 2 years into beginning banjo AND IT GETS SO FRUSTRATING. I was dumb to wait until age 60 to ever start this lol. Anywho I can now keep good time,,,,,,roll through the chords for about any key called out at a jam good enough for back up,,,,,,,play a lil decent banjo lead in G or C for several songs (Cripple Creek, Jed Clampitt, Foggy Mountain,,Rollin in Babys Arms,,Will the Circle be Unbroken,,Grandfathers Clock etc etc you get the picture) ........BUT Im still pretty much on top playing the straight barefoot chords versus playin up n down the neck like a real banjo player. I play the Scruggs 5 string finger pickin roll style
BUT I have friends that played like 30 years and thats what gets frustratign cuz I wont live long enough to ever be a real banjo picker n go up n down the neck n be able to play any song after hearing another play the first verse grrrrrrrrrrrr like my buddies can do so easy even if they never heard the song before
