Check measurements of your battery compartment carefully before you buy the automotive battery. Some of the guys around here do just what you are talking about, then have to take the cutting torch to the sheet metal to make things fit. Also those batteries with the huge cold cranking amp numbersachieve it by using thinner plates. Some of these batteries don't do well if the vehicle has a lot of vibration.
