That series tractor likes to burn valves. If the brakes fade just put new kits in the master cylinders. They all had wiring issues to the lights.
I have a 574 and wouldn't trade it. I gave $4,700.00 for mine and it needed a valve job when I bought it. They wanted another $700 to do the valve job but I did it my self and glad I did. When I pulled the head it needed new pistons also. I put new pistons, rings rod and main bearings and had valve job and new springs installed on the vavles plus all the needed gaskets for $700.00.
I see a lot of Kubotas out there but I've been inside of them also and they are just an oversized garden tractor as far as I'm concerned.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
