New purchase today - brought home my 1945 Farmall A with a belly cultivator. She wouldn't start, so I messed with connections and whatnot. I finally took the good battery from my Jubilee and tried it with the Farmall. The starter motor hummed and whirred but didn't seem to engage with the motor. I finally got her to start with the crank and she sound good. I'm worried about the starter and suspect somthing is sheared off inside. Any hints? I'll probably pull the starter tomorrow, but am wondering what to look for or expect.
Also, she seems to buck pretty good when I let out the clutch. The governor really revs untill it's moving, then it settles down. Is this normal? This is my first experience with a Farmall. -Thanks - Jack
