Same here, rain was forecasted for 2-3 days the latter part of this past weekend and recieved a "mist" for about 1/2 hour yesterday. I still have fairly moist soil below the top 2", but that and the cool weather isnt really making my corn grow any height. Glad I took the insurance an opted to spread fertilizer later rather than preplanting. I didnt fertlilize my rye due to the lack of rain, I figured why waste the fertilizer when the rye is already heading out and it would not have even been able to be rained in, the top of the soil hasnt even been moist enough to absord anything. Rye prices are down and rent is only $10 acre so I figured I get what I get. Corn, well , I think I will be holding off contracting anything until we get some substantial rainfall. I will say since I was doing 3 variety trials for drought and stress tolerance, couldnt ask for better testing conditions!
