Dean,
To plumb your independent loader control valve into your 2020 you will need a pressure and a return port. To do this you will need to get some parts from your J.D. dealer, the parts you need to get your pressure port are a Tee fitting (two pieces) and a line (flexible hydraulic hose with steel elbow). This will replace the adapter fitting and the short steel "L" shaped line between the Pressure Control Valve (PCV) and your existing hydraulic control valves. The pressure control valve (PCV) is located under the right hand floor platform, close to final drive and bolts to the side of the tractor with three 3/8" bolts. You do NOT have to remove it to install the pressure port tap out tee fitting assembly, just unhook and remove the steel line between the existing hydraulic valves and the PCV and remove the existing adapter fitting from the rear of the PCV and replace it with the new two piece tee fitting and reconnect the PCV to the hydraulic valves with the new flexible pressure line. The new two piece fitting will give you the place to make your pressure connection, you may want to use a male quick connector at this point so loader can be removed without needing wrenches and plugs. For the return side of the system check to see if your hydraulic filter cap has a ported hole plug in it. If it does install a female quick connect adapter in it for your return side of your loader valve. If it does not you will either have to get the correct filter cap from a dealer or drill and port the one you have. This is the correct way to plumb your independent loader control valve on all John Deere utility tractors of this design. It is important that the pressure source be taken off behind the PCV so steering will not be lost during hydraulic operation of loader. Using a male adapter on the pressure and a female adapter on the filter cap will keep the hose connection from being connected incorrectly. Good Luck, Dave Wickman

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing. ... [Read Article]
