Not sure how you can double clutch this model as you dont hit neutral between any forward gear shift positions. Maybe "double clutch" means something else where your from? There is an idler pulley on the drive belt on a GT262 that can be adjusted to allow for a worn belt. Not sure if this will help your problem or not. I have an 11 year old GT262 - still on original belts and I have some slopes I mow. I had to adjust the idler a year ago. If your mower deck belt is slipping you would have the blade speed slow down in heavy grass , may be even stop ,leaving uncut grass, and maybe smell the burnt belt.
