When I worked for the local school bus company we had to go thru him to get mechanics. Unfortunately I quit the bus company because of all the paper work and lack of good mechanics. I switched jobs and 6 months later I got laid off. I landed a job 2 1/2 weeks ago at a local auto salvage yard. They employ 9300 employees nation wide I was told. We work 9 1/2 hrs a day and any thing over 40 hrs a week is time and a half. We get two 15 minute breaks a day, work from 7am-5pm with a half hour lunch. All I do is dismantle engines after they are pulled out of the vehicles. Don't really need a lot of tools, I brought over half of mine back home. The name of the company is LKQ Corp.
I hope the best for you and your family. All I can say is hang in there and try to enjoy the time off while you can. It was hard for me to have to go back to a job but I was ready to go back to work after being hme for 3 months.
