Nina; I can to you offer some goode, sound advices:
First thing: Go tractor shopping.. I would suggest a Late Model B John Deere or a Super C Farmall, due to their great OPERATOR VISIBITITY. Purchase the tractor; have the delivery man park it in front of the garage. Use Mike's checkbook for payment.
Next step would be a total restoration of the tractor,,, don't worry about a lack of knowledge, the great people on these forums will be more than happy to offer guidiance for each step that is taken as you restore the tractor..remember to include a new seat cover and four new tires and tubes, along with a new battery, complete paint job and decals, SMV emblem, and working lites...Again, use Mike's checkbook..
Don't tell Mike when the tractor will be finished,,,let him wonder..
On the REVEALING day, suprise him as he is homebound;out on the road, about a mile from home. When you meet him, be driving the tractor down the middle of the road, completely neeked!! Be sure to wave!! If he don't wave back, ya may as fell keep on going...
