Don"t know where in SC you are but next time make a run to IF Engineering in Charlotte. We"ve been dealing with those guys since back in the 70"s and they wouldn"t even think of doing something like that. It doesn"t matter how clean or dirty a part is it gets hot tanked and if needed steam cleaned before they touch it. When their done, very crank, etc is tagged with a disclaimer and warning to clean out the oil passages, check for proper plugging on blocks, etc but at the same time every part is clean and bagged and for the most part ready to install. Personally I"d have told your guys when picking up the crank that I don"t install dirty parts anymore than they work on them and that I expected it to be clean before I left and then just stood there and waited. If they didn"t make good on things then it doesn"t take long for posts like this to make it"s way around with a shops name and a bad rep goes along way toward cutting off their business.
