I'm thinking that there is probably a difference in the size of the venturi between the carb for a 150cc machine and a 250cc machine,if that's the case,your engine will run ok until it gets to the point where it can't pull enough air through the carb.You could try increasing the size of the main jet,but that's going to leave more fuel in,it may make it worse if it can't pull enough air to mix with the extra fuel.
