You are right. The idea of a new engine is not good. How much do such things go for ? And are they even available ? Thanks for the candid response. Will not hold you personally responsible ! But speaking of responsibility, what could I have done to cause this - or prevent it in the future ?

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned.
