Yesterday I spent spraying. We still couldnt plant the last of the beans but seemed like another day or so and we could get them in. I spent the day spraying corn.
This is some of the corn we planted around may 20. It is looking pretty darn good considering the weather.
Nick and I talked about what to do about the hay. There was a 50 percent chance of rain last night with a couple of clear days after that. If we didnt mow it there was a 100 percent chance we couldnt bale it so... Do you chance it and try or keep waiting?
He mowed the first field of hay.
A overgrown tangled wet mess of alfalfa and grass.
So of course it rained again... seven tenths here and 1.5 inches on other farms. That meant I had time to check the cows and calves in the pasture so I took some pics after it quit raining this morning.
This is the creek running through the pasture. Running a little faster today because of the almost inch of rain we had last night.

This is the last calf that came this spring. A nice heifer calf. Her mom is nosey the cow. She should make a great cow some day! It was a cloudy sprinkle filled day. Once again we are a few more days from finishing planting and now we have hay down. Oh well. bill
